Projects Department has supported the process of investment in Brazil's productive capacity. Growth has developed through close relations with BNDES and the main development banks worldwide, including IFC, EIB, FMO, DEG and Eximbank.

During the 2000-2004 period, Itaú BBA was active in structuring financing for more than 120 investment projects involving approximately R$ 10 billion.

A special highlight was introducing the Itaú BBA Environment Management System. On August 12, 2004, in line with its social responsibility and corporate governance values, Itaú BBA adhered to the "Ecuador Principles". This was a voluntary decision that underlines the Bank's concern with the environment. This adhesion means that Itaú BBA will comply its socioenvironmental commitement, which includes criterias based on IFC policies when financing projects worth over US$ 10 million.
